HAIM drop a 2020-themed holiday song with lyrics by Jeremy O. Harris

Titled ‘Christmas Wrapping 2020 (all I want for christmas is a vaccine)’, the track also features bass from Thundercat

HAIM have shared a new, lighthearted holiday song, titled “Christmas Wrapping 2020 (all I want for christmas is a vaccine)”.

To the tune of The Waitresses’ 1981 track “Christmas Wrapping”, the song looks back on 2020 (or, as HAIM rightly call it, “the year that’s been unending”). Think: playful lyrics about family Zoom calls, homemade haircuts, and whiling away lockdown “on TikTok, drinking wine, and weeping”.

Back in 2017, HAIM also debuted a Hanukkah – AKA, Haimukkah – song. This time around though, they’ve enlisted Slave Play and Daddy playwright, and former Dazed 100er, Jeremy O. Harris, who contributes lyrics about Instagram thirst traps and “WAP”. Thundercat also makes an appearance alongside Frank Ocean collaborator Buddy Ross, laying down the bassline and keyboards for the track, respectively.

In June this year, HAIM released their long-awaited album Women in Music Pt. III, following coronavirus-related delays. The group have also recently contributed to a charity compilation from London-based label PLZ Make It Ruins, alongside Arca, 100 gecs, Blood Orange, and more.
