New music from Grimes, Shygirl, and more to feature in Cyberpunk 2077

SOPHIE and Nina Kraviz will also appear in the video game’s soundtrack

Grimes, SOPHIE, Shygirl, Nina Kraviz, Run the Jewels, and more will debut new music for the soundtrack of Cyberpunk 2077, according to details recently revealed by the video game’s developer, CD Projekt Red.

All of the artists featured on the soundtrack will appear under fictional identities that place them in the dystopian, near-future world of Cyberpunk 2077, with their music being piped in via in-game radio stations. SOPHIE and Shygirl, for example, will become the duo Clockwork Venus, whose track is titled “BM”. Run the Jewels will become Yankee and the Brave.

As previously revealed, Grimes will take on the character of Lizzy Wizzy, a cyborg pop star whose whole body was replaced with cybernetics after she died onstage (get a closer look at the character and her backstory here). Her new track is titled “Delicate Weapon”. Voiced by Grimes, Lizzy Wizzy will also appear in the game itself, alongside a character played by Keanu Reeves.

In December 2019, Grimes debuted another song from the upcoming game’s soundtrack at the Game Awards in Los Angeles. Titled “4ÆM”, the track featured on her subsequently-released fifth album, Miss Anthropocene.
