The visuals – first teased late last week – come courtesy of “Hotline Bling” filmmaker Director X, and feature Grande leading a team of scientists in a lab. The singer also doubles as the robot they’re trying to bring to life. Ariana Grande has previously called the lyrics to the track “absolutely absurd”, explaining: “We heard the strings that sounded so Disney and orchestral and full and pure, and I was just like: ‘yo, what is the dirtiest possible, most opposing lyric that we could write to this?’” The track was released along with Positions October 30. A video for the title track from the album sees Grande take on the role of president, signing papers in the Oval Office, and hosting press conferences. Grande has also recently taken the stage alongside Thundercat at Adult Swim Festival, to perform a version of the latter’s 2015 track “Them Changes”. “It feels like Ariana and I are forever connected through Mac (Miller),” Thundercat says, referring to their performance as: “part of the healing process.” Watch the video for “34+35” below.
