Robert Pattinson features in HAIM’s new performance of ‘3am’

The former vampire takes on the role of an ‘emotional vampire’ for the group’s appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers

HAIM’s “3am”, a track off the group’s Women in Music Pt. III, opens with a late night voicemail from a guy they term – in a recent performance of the song on Late Night with Seth Meyers – an “emotional vampire”.

Who better to play the part, then, than Robert Pattinson (who, lest we forget, rose to fame as a sparkly-skinned vampire before starring in arthouse films such as The Lighthouse and Claire Denis’s High Life, and more recently The Devil All The Time)?

In an interview aired alongside the performance, HAIM explain how they ended up casting the actor in the role, which sees him reciting the “voicemail” over FaceTime.

The filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson has also worked closely with HAIM over the years, directing multiple videos for the band’s most recent record. Earlier this year, Alana Haim was also spotted on the set of Anderson’s upcoming film.

Watch the Robert Pattinson-starring performance of HAIM’s “3am” below.
