Beabadoobee’s Fake It Flowers

New Music Friday: 9 albums to hear this week

With new records by Beabadoobee, Dorian Electra, Autechre, and more

Over the past couple of years, Beabadoobee has taken the songs she wrote in her childhood bedroom to festival main stages and arena tours with The 1975. Her debut album, Fake It Flowers, captures this rise sonically: at once raw and confessional, yet at the same time anthemic in scale. Nodding to her 90s grunge and alt-rock heroes, these are songs you could belt along to these choruses at the top of your lungs – if only venues were open.

Elsewhere this week, Norwegian pop hero Annie releases her first album in 11 years, Dorian Electra’s wild new project features collaborations with everyone from Rebecca Black to the Village People, and we get a sign of electronic music icons Autechre’s new record. Take a listen below.
