Titled C is for Country, the new children’s book is set to arrive on January 5 next year, as revealed in a September 15 tweet. “I’m dropping the best kids book of all time soon!” writes the “Old Town Road” rapper. “I can't wait to share it with you all.” Published by Penguin Random House, the book is aimed at readers aged 3 to 7, following Lil Nas X and his trusty steed (Panini the pony, obvs) “on a joyous journey through the alphabet from sunup to sundown”. The synopsis also gives a taster of the alphabet book, and it’s about as cowboy-themed as you might expect: “A is for adventure, B is for boots, C is for country.” (Presumably, Y is for Yeehaw.) C is for Country – which also features art by the illustrator Theodore Taylor III – is already available to preorder online.
