As if this wasn’t enough, fans can now also look forward to a behind-the-scenes documentary, which is set to be released via Netflix on October 14. Called Light Up the Sky, the Caroline Suh-directed film will offer an exclusive look at the making of the K-pop band’s album. “We can’t wait to share our personal stories with Blinks all over the world,” BLACKPINK said in a statement. “We hope this film will bring joy and light to the viewers, and they will enjoy seeing our journey together on screen from the past four years.” An image accompanying the announcement shows the four BLACKPINK members, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, as Netflix avatars. In June, BLACKPINK released the first single from their upcoming album, titled “How You Like That”, before sharing the second, “Ice Cream”, in August. The latter is a collaboration with Selena Gomez, and was co-written by Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét. The Album follows a series of EPs, including 2019’s Kill This Love, and comes after the group’s recent collaboration with Lady Gaga on “Sour Candy”, which appeared on her latest album, Chromatica. Light Up the Sky will be available on Netflix from October 14.
