Gorillaz are releasing a new book, the Gorillaz Almanac

The annual is a ‘sideways homage’ to the band’s 20 years together

Gorillaz have announced a forthcoming book, the Gorillaz Almanac, “inspired by the great British tradition of the hardback annual”. Published with Z2 Comics, the book coincides with the virtual band’s 20 year anniversary.

As for the contents of the book, readers can apparently expect new artwork – including the first official comic strip to feature the band’s core members – plus puzzles, games, and appearances from collaborators across Gorillaz’ career.

The Gorillaz Almanac will also include a CD of music from season one of their recent Song Machine project.

Recently, Gorillaz founder Damon Albarn performed alongside his animated counterpart, 2-D, for the first time in a one-off, socially-distanced duet over Zoom.

The band’s guitarist, Noodle, also recently read May’s horoscopes for Dazed.
