However, the artist has sadly announced the cancellation of the shows due to coronavirus. Writing in a touching letter to her fans on Instagram, Björk said, “As clearly as India can see the Himalayas,” referencing the reduced air pollution amid coronavirus lockdowns, “I announce that my concerts in the summer have been moved back a year.” Björk’s post also includes an update on where she’s staying during the pandemic – “in Iceland, all safe from them viruses” – and sees her reflect on the way it’s changed the world: “I look around and this corona has strangely given each of us tasks.” “Some to stay still some more, centre ourselves better, some to focus on family, some to become better chefs or cleaners, and the collective earth to pollute less.” Of course, existing tickets will be honoured for the 2021 shows. “I hope you understand and looking forward to seeing you, reborn,” Björk writes.
