Christine and the Queens has announced plans to livestream “impromptu” shows from Ferber studios in Paris, as the musician and fans self-isolate to help avoid the spreading of coronavirus.
The first installment of the informal “shows” was streamed and posted to Instagram March 16, kicking off with an acoustic cover of “People, I’ve been sad”, a track released in February this year.
The post also comes with a caption explaining the situation. “I’ll find a way to deal with the ennui,” it reads, with the singer adding: “Guests and weird concepts included.”
As of March 17, we also know that one of the aforementioned guests will be Charli XCX, who posted to social media with the announcement.
The pair will take to Instagram Live to have “an open emo conversation about all the things we’re feeling right now,” says Charli XCX, “about being creative... about being lonely... about music... about whatever you want to hear us talking about.... we’re ready to get DEEEEEP.”
The English singer has also recently spoken out on social media about mental health during coronavirus quarantine, saying: “even after one day – I’m feeling a bit purposeless.”
“Two weeks of quarantine will literally feel like FOREVER. I think it’s an important time to take care of yourself mentally – because I don’t know about you but stillness can really push me to the brink.”
