Taking place October 30, the UK Music Video Awards (UK MVAs) has just announced the nominees for its 39 different categories celebrating creativity, technical excellence and innovation in music videos – and one of these awards will be presented by Dazed. 

FKA twigs lands top of the list of this years’ nominations with nine in total, including no less than six nominations for her “Eusexua” music video. Running close behind is both A$AP Rocky’s “Tailor Swif” video with five shortlist placements, followed by Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and Little Simz’ “Flood feat. Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly” with four nominations each.

Both “Eusexua” and “Tailor Swif” are up for the Best Styling Award, which will be presented in association with Dazed. Here, Georgia Pendlebury’s otherworldly “Eusexua” looks and Galina Sokolovska’s unhinged “Tailor Swif” streetstyle will be up against Gary David Moore for Wolf Alice’s “Bloom Baby Bloom”, Desiree Laidler for Yung Lean’s “Forever Yung”, Erin Benach for Haim’s “Relationships” and Mohammed Osumanu for Fuse ODG’s “Sundiata”.

Continuing twigs’ nomination sweep, “Eusexua” director Jordan Hemingway lands as the most-recognised director of this years’ awards, with five separate projects receiving nominations: “Eusexua”, “Childlike Things”, “Striptease”, “Perfect Stranger” and Travis Scott’s “Drugs You Should Try It”. Also sweeping the board this year is direction duo Vania & Muggia who, having worked on both “Tailor Swif” and “Manchild”, have two entries in the categories for Best Production Design and Best Cinematography.

Elsewhere, Bad Bunny’s “NUEVAYoL”, Turnstile’s “Never Enough”, Bricknasty’s “Vinland”, Lorde’s “Hammer”, Paris Texas’ “They Left Me With A Gun / Sword” and many more all received nominations for this year’s awards. However, the nominations for the most prestigious prize of all, Video of the Year, are reserved for the night.
