Megan Thee Stallion’s new record, Suga, is coming this week

The rapper has been in a legal battle with her label, which was apparently preventing her from releasing new material

This week, Megan Thee Stallion claimed that her record label, 1501, was preventing her from releasing music and – just a day later – announced she’s suing the label in order to drop new material. How long will we have to wait to hear that material? Not long, apparently.

In fact, Megan’s latest record – titled Suga – is due this week, according to an Instagram post shared today (March 4).

The slated release date is Friday (March 6), announced along with the artwork and tracklist. This confirms it will be nine tracks in length, with features from Kehlani and Gunna. It will also include the previously-released single, “B.I.T.C.H.”.

The lawsuit filed against 1501 revolves around clauses in Megan’s contract from when she joined the label aged 20. Since seeking termination of the contract, the rapper has been granted a temporary restraining order to allow the release of “new records” (hence the new music).

Let’s hope there are no more legal shenanigans between now and Friday.
