Listen to FKA twigs’ new track, ‘sad day’

It’s the fourth single to be released from her imminent second album, MAGDALENE

We’re just days away from FKA twigs’ second album MAGDALENE, and the singer has blessed us with another new single, “sad day”.

The release follows previous tracks, “cellophane”, “holy terrain”, and “home with you”, and is likely to be the last single before twigs’ record drops on Friday (November 8).

MAGDALENE is the singer’s first studio album since 2014’s LP1, and was created during a period of heartbreak. “I never thought heartbreak could be so all-encompassing,” twigs explained in a press release. “The process of making this album has allowed me for the first time to find compassion when I have been at my most ungrateful, confused, and fractured.”

The singer recently performed the first single from the record, “cellophane”, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and was joined by cellist Lucinda Chua and pianist Kelly Moran.

Listen to “sad day” below.
