Listen to Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens’ The 1975 cover

The duo performed ‘TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME’ on BBC Radio 1 this morning

After dropping thumping pop anthem “Gone” last month, Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens (AKA Chris) have teamed up again, this time to cover The 1975.

The duo were guests on BBC Radio 1 this morning (September 5), where they performed the band’s track “TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME” from the 2018 album A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships

Charli and Chris’ version is a faster, boppier version of the original, and is overlaid on the show with recorded X Factor-style shoutouts of their names – the pair seemingly had control of the buttons. It also (ofc) features Chris singing in French.

Charli’s collaboration with Chris is one of many over the past few months, with the singer previously dropping tracks with BTS, Pabllo Vittar, Sky Ferreira, and HAIM. The releases precede her third studio album, Charli, which is set to drop next Friday (September 13).

Listen to the pair’s show here – skip to the 2:10 mark for The 1975 cover – and watch a clip below.
