If there is, it would be the rapper’s first since 2017’s Flower Boy, which earned him a nomination for best rap album at the 2018 Grammys. The first of the videos (published May 1) is titled ‘_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _’ and features many Tylers looking vacant over a long synth note and a very nice beat, with a snatch of singing at the end (if this is what new music would sound like, we’re in luck). The second clip, ‘_____________’ (May 3) features more rapping, along with Tyler dancing and boxing in a blonde wig on what appears to be the set of a retro chat show. It’s an aesthetic, for sure. The clips have been gaining some high profile attention, too. When the first was posted on Instagram, Tyler, the Creator collaborators A$AP Rocky and Kali Uchis commented “LETS GO!🔥” and “oooooooooooooOoOoOoOooO” respectively. Solange, meanwhile, stoked rumours of a new project, writing: “it’s tiiiiimmmmeeee.” Erykah Badu simply added: “Oh no!” Escape the algorithm!
