The walk was staged on Brockhampton Street, in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. As the livestream was going on, groups of fans gathered alongside Abstract, who chatted and was just generally chill with them while he walked. “I’m at a low point,” he told one fan, who was on a video call held up by her friend. “I’m hoping that this will take me to a new place where I’m a little happier.” When another fan asked “what made you just wanna be on a treadmill for 10 hours?” (good question) Abstract simply replied: “Shia LeBeouf.” LaBeouf famously committed to a 72-hour, livestreamed project where he watched all his films for 72 hours. Arizona is Abstract’s first solo album since 2016, though Brockhampton did put out the full-length Iridescence in 2018. The first music video for the record, “The 1-9-9-9 Is Coming”, released April 8. If you’ve got 10 hours to spare, you can watch the whole treadmill stream below (spoiler: he looks pretty tired by the end). Escape the algorithm!
