James Blake has been teasing a new project

Assume Form visuals have cropped up in London and NY

Since releasing his third album, The Colour In Anything, James Blake has lent his ghostly vocals to tracks from the likes of Travis Scott and former band Mount Kimbie, as well as opening up about suicidal thoughts on tour and the problematic “sad boy” label he’s acquired. But now – almost three years on – it seems like we might be getting the follow up to the 2016 record.

The Fader has previously pointed out a French Amazon pre-order page (now removed) that gave details of the album, apparently called Assume Form, and gave a release date of January 25.

A website bearing the same name has also cropped up, looping some James Blake-esque chords that – according to Shazam – are taken from a track called “Lullaby For My Insomniac”. If that wasn’t enough of a teaser, though, the Assume Form logo has also been projected, along with images of Blake’s face, on a wall in Shoreditch and a billboard in Times Square.

Blake will also begin a North American tour on February 16, in Miami.
