Yes, that’s right: at midnight GMT, Blake will release his third album and the follow-up to 2013’s Overgrown. The album has been teased recently via billboards in London and New York – featuring paintings by Roald Dahl illustrator Sir Quentin Blake – but no one was necessarily expecting it to arrive so soon. The news came after Blake spoke to Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 earlier today. As well as revealing the title and surprise release, he also played two songs from the album – “Radio Silence” and the Bon Iver-featuring “I Need A Forest Fire”. He also revealed that he worked with Rick Rubin on the record. In previous interviews, Blake has said that he worked with Kanye West and Connan Mockasin on the album, but it’s not currently clear whether they’ll feature on the finished product. You can stream another song from the album, “My Willing Heart”, below, and check out the album art above. Escape the algorithm!
