Potential, because as usual his tweet is incredibly vague – only reading: “throne2 coming soon” – and there’s no confirmation from Jay-Z himself just yet. The announcement was also, inexplicably, posted in between snaps of a friend’s wedding. It’s not the first time the rapper has announced a sequel to the 2011 album, either, but it is the first time since he claimed that it would definitely never happen, which he said on tour in 2016, citing conflict between Apple and Jay-Z’s Tidal as the reason. “There will never be a Watch the Throne 2,” West said back then. “You know why? Because that’s the reason why I wasn’t on the song. I wasn’t on the song ’cause of Hov, ’cause of this Tidal, Apple, bullshit.” That was two years ago, though, and Kanye and Jay-Z have since been credited together on Pusha T’s 2018 album Daytona, which is a good sign for fans waiting for part two of Watch the Throne with bated breath. In other Kanye news, he’s recently announced a possible presidential run in 2024 and directed 2018’s Pornhub Awards.
