Posting in an Instagram story over the weekend, Grimes captioned the list with “working titlez, subject to change but just so y’all know its real”. Some of the song titles? “thats what the drugs r 4”, “Darq Souls”, and “Nymphs At Versailles”. On Twitter, she also teased fans about a new song that she wants to release soon. “Wanna drop song soon ish so wud u pref super dark heavy ballad about fighting balrog in the center of earth that is a sex metaphor or a very not pg13 ethereal shadow of colossus demon nu metal song art insomnia?,” she wrote. “or a super lame love song i hate but other ppl dig or an elven take on train spotting soundtrack. those prob 4 main closest to being done rn”. She clarified that this drop wouldn’t be the album’s first single or indicative of the album direction.
