Manson was seriously injured by a falling prop back in October and was forced to reschedule the tour promoting his latest album, Heaven Upside Down. He reportedly emerged onstage at Huntington in a cast and sang part of his set from a wheelchair. After performing three songs – “The Reflecting God,” “Deep Six” and “This is the New Shit” — he told the crowd they needed to show him more love if they wanted to hear the rest of his show. According to New York newspaper, Newsday, the crowd responded by booing, tossing plastic cups and yelling “refund”. After Manson dropped his mic and left the stage, the crowd began chanting “Fuck you Manson”. In the comment section of an Instagram post posted by The Paramount venue, where Manson performed, concert-goers expressed their frustration with the rockstar. “He went on rants that lasted over 10 minutes, begging the crowd to tell him we love him and then speaking gibberish. When he sang one song, he made up the lyrics. Nothing more I can say, that hasn't already. He ripped us all off,” wrote one commenter. “The worst event I ever experienced. He should be held accountable for his actions and not get paid for this,” wrote another. Manson is well-known for his eccentricities and while this show went down like a lead balloon, the following night's performance at the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey was a hit. He has 21 more tour dates upcoming. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday. Privacy policy Thank you.
