Marilyn Manson crushed by falling prop while performing

Proving once again that guns are dangerous (even if they are props)

Dramatic ultra-goth star Marilyn Manson has been hospitalised after two giant gun props fell on him while he was performing in New York

Footage from the incident last night (September 30) shows Manson seemingly attempt to climb the scaffolding the guns were attached to, before they fall on him.

According to Tatiana Tenreyro, a writer at Billboard, Manson was subsequently pulled out of the show on a stretcher – and Alice Glass, Manson's support act, ran out of the show crying.

“I grew up listening to his music and was excited to see him because it was my first proper time seeing him perform as a headliner. He was performing ‘Sweet Dreams’, a moment that many fans including myself had been anticipating,” she told Dazed.

“When he was on the ground, at first fans thought it was part of the performance but then the crew quickly got to the stage, surrounding him trying to get him to stand up.

“The crowd didn’t really understand what was happening and they kept trying to encourage him to stand up, thinking it was a minor injury. I was standing by the right side near the backstage area and I saw the stretcher go into the stage and Marilyn Manson being rushed out of the venue.

“When he was on the ground onstage, Alice Glass (...) was standing by the side watching everything happen. When she realised it was a serious injury and saw him being walked out on a stretcher, she started crying. Fans next to her were shouting ‘Alice! Alice!’ but she rushed looking very distraught to the backstage area. Right after that, it was announced that the show was canceled due to the injury.”

A Manson representative told Rolling Stone magazine that: “Manson suffered an injury towards the end of his incredible NYC show. He is being treated at a local hospital.”

However, the seriousness of Manson's condition is currently unknown, prompting mild online hysteria.

Some fans are worrying that the star may have been seriously injured or died, meanwhile, others are making jokes about ‘gun control’.

Manson was three dates into his tour to promote new album Heaven Upside Down, due out next Friday (October 6).

The first video from the album, “WE KNOW WHERE YOU FUCKING LIVE”, was released earlier in September – showing Manson causing chaos with nuns.
