MusicNewsGorillaz’s fictional guitarist Noodle is on OkCupidAnd she may have revealed when they’ll be releasing new musicShareLink copied ✔️November 3, 2016MusicNewsTextSelim Bulut Gorillaz have been hinting at new music with the launch of an official Instagram and a series of animated ‘books’ for each of the fictional band’s members. Now they’ve gone a step further by revealing an important date – via the very unlikely source of OkCupid. Keen Reddit users noticed that Noodle, the virtual band’s guitarist, has a profile on the dating site that’s linked to Gorillaz’s Instagram account. The profile lists Noodle’s attributes: 26 years old, queer, and searching for new friends aged 18 to 99. Most excitingly, the profile description reads: “Ready? 12:11 xx DA” The “DA” sign-off refers to real world band leader Damon Albarn, who was also pictured in the lead profile photo later in the day. The date is presumably referring to November 12, which could be when we hear the first taste of the next Gorillaz album. This isn’t the only bit of unconventional promo that Gorillaz have done for their next record: recently, drummer Russel was seen giving an in-character interview to a magazine for cat owners. Then again, that’s far from the craziest thing that’s happened in the Gorillaz universe, as we explored in a recent feature on the band. The OkCupid account has since been deleted, but check out a screenshot of Noodle’s original profile below. via reddit.com/r/gorillazExpand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREFrost Children answer the dA-Zed quizThe 5 best features from PinkPantheress’ new remix albumZimmermannKindred spirits and psychedelic florals: Zimmermann heads to 70s Sydney Moses Ideka is making pagan synth-folk from the heart of south LondonBehind-the-scenes at Oklou and FKA twigs’ new video shootBjörk calls for the release of musician ‘kidnapped’ by Israeli authorities‘Her dumbest album yet’: Are Swifties turning on Taylor Swift?IB Kamara on branching out into musicEnter the K-Bass: How SCR revolutionised Korean club culture‘Comic Con meets underground rap’: Photos from Eastern Margins’ day festWho are H.LLS?
