Inspired by Walter Tevis’s novel The Man Who Fell To Earth (which was adapted into a 1976 film starring Bowie by Nicolas Roeg), the play ran in New York last year and sold out in record time. The London run, again directed by Ivo van Hove, will see some of the main cast from the New York production reprise their roles, including Michael C Hall, Michael Esper and Sophia Anne Caruso. Written by Bowie and Enda Walsh, Lazarus was one of the musician’s final projects before his death in January this year. The play features music from Bowie’s back catalogue and his final album Blackstar, as well as three new songs. The musical runs at the Kings Cross Theatre from October 25th 2016 until January 22nd 2017.
