This week’s playlist opens with Chicago rapper Brian Fresco’s new song “Higher”, which unexpectedly pairs Chance the Rapper with Canadian electro pop duo Blue Hawaii. Next, Skepta returns with his first new song since releasing his triumphant new album Konnichiwa earlier this year, teaming up with Atlanta’s Makonnen (aka iLoveMakonnen) and referencing his recent Glastonbury performance. Elsewhere there’s loose-limbed grooves from Exploded View, soaring songwriting from Oko Ebombo’s group 19, and some oddball sample-chopping from up-and-coming UK talent Compton White.
