Baauer’s latest offering is playful and exploding with energy, featuring back-and-forth verses from the two rappers spread over some heavyweight 808 bass. “Step into my temple and you see me on my throne, gold on the dome, don’t drop that drone,” spits M.I.A., before G-Dragon dives in with some punchy verses of his own, rapping: “Everybody heard about me, everybody know, faster than a hunter with an arrow to the bow.” While this is only the second time that K-Pop megastar G-Dragon has been used to soundtrack a show, his lyrical presence at New York Fashion Week should come as no surprise. With a wardrobe full of off-the-runway pieces from Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Rick Owens and Balmain alongside avant-streetwear from Hood By Air, KTZ and Ambush, his fashion credentials are all part of his crossover appeal and prolific popularity.
