After four flipflops over the title, a headline-grabbing fashion show and some sporadic bursts of enraged Twitter-ing, Kanye West has finally set loose the long-awaited The Life Of Pablo – his first full-length release in over two years. To celebrate, the rapper and designer headed to Saturday Night Live to perform two tracks from the record. Opening the show with “Highlights” (the one that includes the tender “I bet me and Ray J would be friends / If we ain't love the same bitch” moment), West was joined by Young Thug, El Debarge, Price and The-Dream. See below: The second performance was Pablo’s opening track, “Ultralight Beam”, which saw West sneak off stage left and get replaced by The-Dream, Kelly Price, Kirk Franklin and Chance the Rapper. Towards the end of the song, the rapper announced that the album was officially out. “Kanye West dot com right now,” he shouted. “Tidal streaming right now.” The performances came during another busy weekend on Twitter, which saw the rapper admit to being $53 million in debt. Since then, he has publicly reached out to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and asked him to invest an extra billion into his work. “You love hip hop, you love my art... I am your favorite artist but you watch me barely breathe and still play my album in your house,” he wrote this morning. “I’m this generation's Disney… I want to bring dope shit to the world… I don’t have enough resources to create what I really can…” See all the tweets below: Mark Zuckerberg I know it’s your bday but can you please call me by 2mrw…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016World, please tweet, FaceTime, Facebook, instagram, whatever you gotta do to get Mark to support me…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016Mark, I am publicly asking you for help…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016one of the coolest things you could ever do is to help me in my time of need— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016I know I can make the world a better place… I have done the impossible … I retook the throne of rap… I beat the fashion game…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016All you dudes in San Fran play rap music in your homes but never help the real artists…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016you’d rather open up one school in Africa like you really helped the country…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016if you want to help… help me…— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 15, 2016Escape the algorithm!
