The album, which is titled Ardipithecus, is available on U.S iTunes and was released via Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation. It includes 15 tracks, 14 of which she wrote, and 10 of which she produced. The album also includes contributions from her brother Trey Smith (aka AcE) as well as frequent musical collaborator and producer Jabs. Speaking to The Fader, Willow explained: “‘Ardipithecus Ramidus’ is the scientific name of the first hominid bones found on earth. I wanted to name my musical compilation after it because, while I was making these songs I was in such a transitional state. Digging deep in the soil of my heart and finding bits and pieces of my ancient self that tell stories, which end up being the lyrics to the songs. Ardipithecus is my first album in my entire career and it makes me feel so blessed to be able to share my evolution with the LightEaters as I continue excavating my inner worlds…” Listen to one of the album’s tracks “F Q-C #8” below: Expand your creative community and connect with 15,000 creatives from around the world.READ MOREDon’t Be Dumb: The top 5 features on A$AP Rocky’s new album The rise of ‘Britainicana’: How Westside Cowboy are reshaping UK indieR!R!Riot is Taiwan’s pluggnb princessWhen did UK underground rap get so Christian?
