The visionary singer is constantly working on new projects and using new formats to connect with her audience in different ways. Currently, Tahliah Barnett is in Manchester for a residency at MIF – working on "Soundtrack 7" – a show that will explore different narratives from her life through the medium of dance and break it down into seven short films. Small groups are being allowed to view the creative process as twigs and her team work towards the final show that opens on July 16, but for the most part it’s shrouded in secrecy aside from glimpses that twigs herself has been teasing out on Instagram and Tumblr. The clips are typically twigs, icy productions and strange body movements that nod towards Merce Cunningham, the late and great American choreographer who pioneered a unique form of experimental, contemporary dance. The final show opens this Friday; until then check out the teasers below. Escape the algorithm! Get The DropEmail address SIGN UP Get must-see stories direct to your inbox every weekday.
