Last year, Swedes Daniel Tjader and Marcus Joons (better known as Korallreven) put out the vivacious Second Comin', a charged, bounding clasp of songs on Brooklyn’s Cascine. With London and New York in the midst of particularly chilly winters, they swoop in to take us away for a much-needed “Spring Break in Kyoto.” As the duo explain: “It opens on a hedonistic Spring Break where American youngsters are taking shots of tequila from each other's belly buttons, set in the holy Japanese temple city of Kyoto.” They kick things off with a hasn’t-aged-a-day Arca remix of their track “Sa Sa Samoa” from 2012, before tasting SOPHIE's Haribo-sweet “Lemonade”, and exploring songs named after Ja Rule and Rihanna. Oh, and a Selena Gomez sample from Spring Breakers. Let them be your tour guides.
