The Versace designer turned music reviewer for Vogue with a review of Mariah Carey's newest album, the deliciously named Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse. "Mariah Carey is such an important part of my life, it feels like I've known her forever," Dontella writes in her intro. The two were introduced at a Versace fashion show and have remained fast friends since sharing a night of "pure magic" partying at Palazzo Versace with Beyoncé. Note: this is a totally accurate representation of what it's like to be a music critic. "Like every Mariah fan in the world, I've been desperate for the release of her new album, Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse,” she declares, before going on to highlight some of her favourite tracks on the album. Here's Donatella on the album's first single, "Beautiful": "To me this song is timeless. It came out last summer, but when I hear it, it still feels like the first time. It features Miguel, who is one of the most exciting new artists around right now, and in it you get to hear Mariah's famous and unique whistle register. I love the words, and I catch myself singing it during the day - it's pure Mariah magic." Whistle register? It sounds like Donatella knows far more about music than you might expect.
