No Doubt, Joni Mitchell & Sky FerreiraShareLink copied ✔️April 3, 2014MusicMixTextOwen Myers Last week, Dazed premiered Best Coast's live session of "Baby I'm Crying", where the Cali duo were filmed by Jawbone, utilizing binaural recording techniques. "We were digging on the old '70s era Rolling Stones studio sessions shot on super 16mm and loose zoom lenses,' the session's director, Ryan Reichenfeld, told us. "I strove to make the camera feel casual, like it was witnessing everything like a fly on the wall. I didn't want it to feel lazy, though. It needed to feel like our camera moves were intentional, purposeful, and had motivation." Revisit the session below: Now, the band's vocalist Bethany shares an all-girls mixtape that she made around the time of the sessions. Ranging from The Go Go's and The Bangles to Lana Del Rey and a Taylor Swift deep cut, the mix shifts from heart-swelling ballads to sprightly power pop in an expressive, often defiant selection.
