Set to be the only collective in Chicago that you check for, the Chance The Rapper-affiliated SAVEMONEY further demonstrate their versatility as crew member Vic Mensa enlists Kami de Chukwu and producer Peter Cottontale for this remix of alt-pop LA trio Sir Sly’s "Gold". Vic pays homage to the original song with machine gun raps – “Twice in a lifetime, mouth made of metal and gold” – as he flits between yearning vocals and tough-talking bars. Stripped-down drums team with the mournful hook of the Sir Sly original to create a fully-fleshed track that soars as high as anything on Mensa's debut INNANETAPE, which was also executive produced by Cottontale. Look out for a special Dazed shoot and feature with Mensa next month.
