Music / First LookRo James – LisaExclusive: The Snoop Dogg and Miguel collaborator debuts a twisted noir R&B videoShareLink copied ✔️January 21, 2014MusicFirst LookTextDazed Digital NYC R&B singer/songwriter Ro James collaborated with Snoop Dogg last year on the slippery "'84", his biggest solo moment to date. Previously, the Queens artist had been best known for "Use Me", the twisted track he wrote for Miguel's Kaleidoscope Dream. Now, he premieres the glossy monochrome video for "Lisa", a track from from his 2013 3-part EP series Coke, Jack & Cadillacs. Despire the R-rated lyrics ("she ain't made me shoot like you"), the smut isn't all it seems – in a playful twist, the Lisa of the song's title is a reference to US acrtress Lisa Bonet, who played Denise on The Cosby Show. Here, she has the kind of reverence that Nikki did in The-Dream's "Trilogy". Heck, Ro James' cadence isn't that far from Terius's either.
