Francis and the Lights, AKA New Yorker Francis Farewell Starlite, follows in the footsteps of Banks and Lil Silva this month with the release of Like A Dream on Good Years. Racking up an impressive collab roster of late, featuring the likes of Drake and 4AD signees Inc., plus a shout-out from Chance the Rapper, now Francis' own distinct tenor and jaunty, piano-led R&B are hitting the limelight. Smoother than smooth and streaming exclusively on Dazed, the four-track EP walks a finely-tuned tightrope, side-stepping the dreaded pitfall of over-earnestness and hitting a sweet, soul-rich spot.
