Notting Hill's celebration of Carribean culture in the wake of the capital's let's-say-icy reception to Windrush went from indoor party to out-and-out street parade when Russell Henderson's Steel Band took their tunes to the street back in 1966.
Fast forward to 2013, and it is Europe's biggest street featival, the world's largest carnival outside of Brazil, a sweaty, elbowy monument to multiculturalism's global victory. In the spirit of all we hold dear, Dazed are proudly media-partnering Dalston's NTS Radio, as they bring the sounds of East London west on 25th and 26th August. Sponsored by carnival drink choice Red Stripe, they remix their own brand of ecelcticism with the history of good music and laid-back attitude Notting Hill is famed for. Both days will be broadcast via NTS Live, with sounds and sights running on Dazed Digital before and after.
