Fast-food empire Real Good Chicken Company is on the verge of collapse and they need YOU to help figure out how it happened. This is the premise of brand new immersive adventure Sweet Dreams currently running at Manchester’s Aviva Studios, which is partnering with Dazed Club for a series of events throughout the show’s runtime.

Guided by lovably unhinged mascot Chicky Ricky (voiced by comedian Munya Chawawa), visitors are given the opportunity to become a worker in RGCC’s surreal factory, a test-subject in their top-secret R&D department, and much more in the six-room, 60-minute experience. Along the way, visitors will also encounter wacky characters Penny Peckish (comedian and impressionist Morgana Robinson) and The Boss (voiced by the equally off-the-wall Reggie Watts). 

Equally tasty, comical and thought-provoking, the multi-sensory experience combines elements of cinema, motion graphics, gaming and illustration. “I’ve always felt my career wouldn’t be complete without voicing a psychologically-twisted animated chicken. Let’s just say you’ll think twice before eating your next burger,” Munya Chawawa commented cryptically of his lead role in the adventure.

Tying in with the events’ launch, Dazed Club will be hosting a talk on July 18 with Sweet Dreams creators Marshmallow Laser Feast and former chef and show writer Simon Wroe, also featuring an extra special Q&A hosted by Dazed’s own Features Editor and surreal specialist Günseli Yalcinkaya. This is followed by night of DJs and live visuals inspired by “all things chicken” in the Aviva Social space on July 19.
