This election day, you can only watch Pornhub if you’ve voted

As the adult site’s campaign slogan says, ‘Give a Fuck, Get a Fuck’

Bad news for apathetic Americans: Pornhub won’t let you get off until you’ve been to the polls. All day today (November 3), the adult site says it will only be available to those in the US who have voted in the 2020 presidential election.

The move is part of Pornhub’s newly-launched ‘Give a Fuck, Get a Fuck’ campaign, which also sees the site’s brand ambassadors encourage people to get out and vote. “You can’t come and see me if you don’t (give a fuck about the election),” adult star Lindsey Banks says in a promotional video, “so go vote.”

“Roughly 43 per cent of eligible voters – equal to 100 million people – didn’t vote in the 2016 US presidential election, according to turnout estimates from the US Elections Project,” Pornhub’s vice president, Corey Price, said in a statement. “We want to encourage people to do their civic duty this year by casting their ballot and having their voice heard.”

From 10AM to 9PM ET today, those accessing the adult site in the US will be met with a page reminding them to vote – TBC how this will impact voting numbers as it’s likely users can just lie to get through to the site. But LA-based agency Just For Fun – who worked with Pornhub on the campaign – is hopeful that the move will inspire disinterested (but horny) Americans to reconsider voting. “This year, to encourage everyone to get off the couch and head to the polling places, we knew we needed to hit them where it hurts – their pants,” the agency said.

Pornhub has launched a number of constructive campaigns in recent months, including encouraging its users to flatten the coronavirus curve by washing their hands, offering advertising space to businesses affected by the pandemic, and debuting its first ever sex education series. Not to mention the free premium porn it offered to the whole world when we first went into lockdown. God bless Pornhub.
