For a monthly subscription of £5, you can gain access to daily content uploads, with all proceeds going straight to the NHS coronavirus appeal. Performers can donate their content via an online application form, and if you’re an NHS worker, you can access the content for free. What originally started out as a “morale boost” for NHS staff, quickly escalated into a full-blown campaign as an increasing number of performers began to offer healthcare workers free access to their subscription pages on adult sites like OnlyFans. via Twitter (@AlexxaVice) “I started offering free access to my page for NHS workers, and loads of performers got behind the idea, giving access to their own pages using the hashtag #WanksAsThanks,” Alexxa, a UK-based sex worker who’s behind the campaign, told Dazed. “Chatting with other performers, we realised that we could develop the idea into an actual fundraiser so we created a dedicated WanksAsThanks page, which everyone was super keen to support by donating content,” she said. “Everyone is just glad to be able to do something to show our support. We have huge respect for our NHS staff and the sacrifices they are making for all of us.” According to Alexxa, the page has nearly 100 sign ups and features in the top 20 per cent of OnlyFans. “We have enough content to go on for months and we’ve had dozens of NHS staff take up the free access and send messages of thanks,” she added. “It’s really heartwarming to know it’s appreciated, although it feels slightly absurd for them to thanking us! They are risking so much and giving their all for us right now, we are more than happy to put a smile on their faces and hopefully some PPE too,” she concluded. With much of the world on lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it’s safe to say that a huge number of people are finding themselves pretty sexually frustrated. Naturally, there’s been a spike in sex toy sales and visits to porn sites, with Pornhub opening up its premium features for free to the entire world. Even Zoom’s having to crack down on virtual sex parties using artificial intelligence, because that’s a thing now, apparently. Escape the algorithm!
