And it only took 2018 years to reach this landmark

Is there anything the Obamas can’t do? Probably. But, in the aftermath of their reign over the White House, Michelle Obama has managed to cement herself as a successful author, and it has now been revealed that the former first lady’s memoir has become the UK’s best selling Christmas book.
The four-week lead up to Christmas accounts for 15 per cent of book sales for the year. And, according to The Guardian, Becoming has managed to sell 92,000 in the final week alone. She’s the first person to take the top spot that isn’t white, and the first woman to do so since JK Rowling.
That spot previously belonged to David Walliams of Little Britain fame for his children’s book The Ice Monster. But the comedian seemed to be pleased with the news as he took to Twitter to congratulate her on her success saying, “You are rightfully sitting at the very top of the tree like the shining light you are.”
Becoming has had a hotly anticipated release in the UK, promo included a sold-out talk between Michelle and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie at London’s Southbank Centre where she spoke frankly about being demonised as an “angry black woman”, and a pop-up bookshop highlighting other female authors of colour with the London-based magazine gal-dem.
In the memoir, she traverses deeply personal topics such as the difficulty of being a wife to an aspiring politician, her struggles with conceiving children, and how she felt after Donald Trump’s inauguration.
