Dazed x MUBI Cinema Club is back for the final instalment of its bumper season of film screenings, bringing film fans a special preview of Charlotte Wells’ lauded feature-length debut, Aftersun.

In case you’ve missed the teary-eyed hype, Aftersun sees Normal People’s Paul Mescal play Calum, the young father of an 11-year-old girl, Sophie (played by newcomer Frankie Corio). On a formative trip to a Turkish beach resort in the late 90s, the pair swim in the sea, play pool, and enjoy each other’s company, but Calum’s behaviour betrays an underlying, mysterious melancholy. Meanwhile, Sophie spends her alone time watching older kids at the resort, as she navigates the cusp of teenhood.

Among other awards, Aftersun took home the French Touch Jury Prize at the Cannes 2022 Critics’ Week. Luckily for us, Dazed will host a screening of the film on November 15 (before it officially hits UK cinemas on November 18) as part of an ongoing partnership with the film distributor and movie streaming service MUBI.
