Dazed x MUBI Cinema Club has something special in store for spooky season. This Halloween (October 31), the club will hold a special screening of Deep Red, the 1975 hallucinatory horror from the dark king of the giallo genre, Dario Argento.
Also known as The Hatchet Murders, Deep Red follows a musician (David Hemmings) who is intent on solving the brutal murder of his neighbour, a psychic medium, with the help of a witty reporter (Daria Nicolodi) looking for a big break. The pair race against time to uncover the identity of the killer after he murders one of the musician’s friends, realising they may be his next targets.
Deep Red is currently showcased in MUBI’s “Profondo Argento” season, with his 1977 masterpiece Suspiria still to come. On Halloween, though, the film distributor and movie streaming service will screen the film in person at London’s Garden Cinema, as part of its ongoing partnership with Dazed.
Dare to spend your Halloween night in the presence of an Italian horror master? Tickets are now on sale for £6 here – also including free drinks and a goodie bag – while Dazed Club members can get them half price (learn more here). Don't forget your costume!
