Catering specifically to cinema fans, the curated streaming platform hosts a hand-picked roster of classics, cult films, and contemporary arthouse releases, while its recent foray into distribution has seen it champion films such as Céline Sciamma’s Petite Maman and Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person in the World. Now, Dazed is partnering with MUBI to launch an exclusive cinema club, screening MUBI’s new releases – before they hit cinemas – for Dazed readers and Dazed Club members. First up? Paul Verhoeven’s much-anticipated erotic drama, Benedetta. Dazed x MUBI Cinema Club will launch with an intimate screening of Benedetta on April 12, hosted by writer and Dazed Club creative director Jack Sunnucks. In case you missed the trailer for the Basic Instinct director’s latest, the story revolves around a 17th-century nun (played by Virginie Efira) entangled in a scandalous lesbian affair, whose religious visions arouse the suspicion of the abbess (Charlotte Rampling). Tickets for the screening at Soho House Dean Street are on sale here, with prices ranging from £5 (for Dazed Club members) to £8 – complimentary drinks included. If you miss out this time around, though, have no fear. The Dazed x MUBI Cinema Club will continue in June with Ninja Thyberg’s Pleasure, an unflinching exploration of LA’s porn industry, and go on throughout the year. Get your tickets here.
