Watch Pamela Anderson’s sex tape saga unfold in a new Pam & Tommy trailer

Starring Lily James, Sebastian Stan, and Seth Rogen, the show is set to arrive next month

Pam & Tommy, the limited series that tells the story of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s relationship, and subsequent sex tape leak, is set to hit Hulu and Disney+ early next month. Ahead of the release, a new trailer for the show has aired, offering more insight into the scandalous storyline and dramatic cast transformations.

In the new preview, electrician Rand Gauthier (played by Seth Rogen) is shown stealing the infamous sex tape, before linking up with a porn producer (Nick Offerman) to disseminate it via an anonymous website.

Lily James (of Baby Driver and Little Woods) stars as Anderson, across from Gossip Girl’s Sebastian Stan as Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. The whole eight-part drama will follow their whirlwind romance, including their 1995 marriage after knowing each other less than a week, the birth of their children, and the leak of their honeymoon sex tape.

“I hope the whole world watches it, I’m incredibly proud of it,” executive producer Robert Siegel tells Variety on the release of the new trailer. “It’s fun, and it also makes you think, which my favorite art always does.”

“If some people just take it on a level of this is a really crazy fun, nostalgic 90s crime story, great. If it sparks debate about issues of privacy and celebrity and e-commerce or anything else it sparks, great. I just mostly want people to really enjoy it.”

Tommy Lee has also backed the upcoming show, saying that he’s “stoked” for the adaptation of real-life events. “I think a lot of people would think that it’s one thing, but it’s really about privacy and how things got crazy then,” he added in a 2021 interview, reiterating: “The story is actually cool. What actually happened wasn’t.”

Other are less enthusiastic about the series, including Hole’s Courtney Love, who has suggested that it exploits the “complex trauma” that Anderson suffered as a result of the leak. “My heart goes out to Pammy,” Love said in a statement last year.

Pam & Tommy will be released via Hulu and Disney+ on February 2.
