Paris Hilton is making a return to reality TVParis in Love will follow the multi-hyphenate mogul as she weds her venture capitalist fiancéShareLink copied ✔️May 13, 2021Film & TVNewsTextDaniel Rodgers Almost 20 years after she first stepped onto the set of The Simple Life – all Von Dutch mini skirts, flip phones, and ‘what’s a laundromat?’ – Paris Hilton is making a return to reality television with a new series tentatively titled Paris in Love. The unscripted docuseries will follow the showbiz mogul over the course of 13 episodes as she preps for her upcoming nuptials to the “man of her dreams,” venture capitalist Carter Reum. According to the show’s synopsis, cameras will accompany Hilton “bridal dress shopping and choosing the venue to designing her dream destination wedding and participating in what certainly will be a fun and crazy bachelorette party”. Culminating on the big day, the show promises to reveal “a personal side of Paris that only her closest friends and family get to see”. Over the past few years, Hilton has been diligently working on her public image, shaking off any remnants of the ditzy heiress that was depicted across The Simple Life, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, and The World According to Paris, a persona which she now admits was a ruse. Be it via the documentary This is Paris, which outlined the abusive treatment of students at Provo Canyon boarding school, to debunking accusations of elitism, to calling out misogynistic TV hosts, Hilton has undergone somewhat of a renaissance in the public eye. Her latest campaign with Lanvin was uncharacteristically pared back, something she described as “another step towards letting people know that I’m not just what they thought, that I actually am a vulnerable person – and I do have that soft side”. It’s perhaps surprising then, that Hilton should return to what could very easily be another round of privilege parading television. Commissioned by NBC’s streamer, fittingly named Peacock, the US platform has also announced a JoJo Siwa series that "will follow momager Jessalynn Siwa and her pop superstar daughter JoJo Siwa as they create and launch a brand new group that will become pop music's next big sensation”. For now, though, any further details, including a release date, are yet to be announced. Watch this space for more.
