Born to Be Murdered will star Alicia Vikander and Tenet’s John David Washington
Netflix has picked up a new thriller, grimly-titled Born to Be Murdered and produced by Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino.
Set to be released in 2021, the film features John David Washington – of Tenet and Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman – alongside Alicia Vikander, as a couple that fall prey to a violent conspiracy while on holiday in Greece. Phantom Thread’s Vicky Krieps and Boyd Holbrook also star.
Born to Be Murdered is the English-language debut of director Ferdinando Cito Filomarino, who also co-wrote the script in collaboration with Kevin Rice. Cito Filomarino is already familiar with Guadagnino, having previously worked with the director on A Bigger Splash, CMBYN, and Suspiria.
The film is just one of the many projects Guadagnino has been involved in recently. The filmmaker has also been busy with his HBO show, We Are Who We Are, an upcoming Scarface remake, a Lord of the Flies adaptation, a new film with Seth Rogen, and the very early stages of his Call Me By Your Name sequel (phew).
