The four-part miniseries looks set to bring new details to the story of Adnan Syed, who was convicted for the 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee in Baltimore. Syed’s case was made famous in 2014 by Serial, the hit podcast that questioned the original conviction and captivated fans around the world. The third instalment of the podcast only finished a few months back, but it looks like HBO’s four-part doc might add more key information to the fascinating story. Coinciding with a new trial for the now 38-year-old, The Case Against Adnan Syed follows a team of private investigators and promises to present “new discoveries and revelations that challenge the state’s case”. The trailer shows that the series will feature exclusive interviews with Syed himself, his defence team and family, and members of Baltimore law enforcement – as well as the friends and teachers of Hae Min Lee.
