When her world tour started earlier this year, the Spanish superstar incorporated a ballet section for the album track “Porcelana”, wearing a custom Ann Demeulemeester tutu while executing pliés and pirouettes on stage. More recently, she’s upgraded to a custom Dior by Jonathan Anderson look for same section, and also let us behind the scenes of her ballet journey, posting progress pics in pointe shoes and sweats ahead of her Miami tour stop. The Miami City Ballet even hyped her up in the comments (Timothée Chalamet found dead). So far, Rosalía has approached the ancient and revered art form with the most respectful of touches, but that all changed this week when the singer stepped out in New York wearing a look that would send a Russian ballet instructor into deep sensory shock. While most traditional tutus might sit at your waist, this one had slid to far below her hip bones, held up by two (shock horror) belts, in plain white leather and emo metal studs. The singer further subverted the ballet form with a translucent, latex bodice split open at the front to reveal… wait for it… a bra!!! Yes, this look would probably get Rosalia ejected from barre class due to a dress code violation, but, when it’s as good as this, we don’t really care. Styled by Jose Carayol – who began working with Rosalía for the Lux era – the custom tutu dress was made by Nigerian designer Yasmina Atta, who proudly took to Instagram this morning to declare the creation her own. A graduate of Central Saint Martins’ womenswear BA, Atta’s work draws from disparate references, such as ballet, African cinema and her Nigerian roots, after moving to England at just eleven years old. And this isn’t the first time Rosalía has championed Atta’s work either – the singer recently wore a woollen dress from the designer on a night out, with a deep cut v-neck and drop waist rara skirt. We can’t wait to see what the pair are cooking up next. Scroll through the gallery at the top of the page for Rosalía’s 2026 style moments Escape the algorithm!
