Without a doubt, Paris Fashion Week is part of the bedrock of the industry. While the blockbuster womenswear shows are yet to come, last week we were treated to this season’s men’s and couture collections in all their glory. Much more than a prelude to the main event, the last two weeks included Jonathan Anderson’s Dior couture debut, Saint Laurent’s tribute to James Baldwin, Willy Chavarria’s blockbuster “living film”, Alessandro Michele’s Valentino peep show, plus more from Louis Vuitton, Dries Van Noten, Rick Owens and more.

With all those brands on the schedule, Paris’s street style aficionados were, of course, in town to peacock outside of the shows, and this time we couldn’t help but notice it was one of the loudest seasons yet. There were hypebeasts in their oversized jeans, and Supreme printed jackets, the Comme des Garçons fans wearing Rei Kawakubo’s fantastical creations, plus even more eyegrabbing accessories, like pink hair rollers, tartan berets and colourful silk bonnets. One diva even paired his black leather jacket with an ankle-length pink tulle skirt, while another even carried a huge white plushie dog as a handbag.
