The infamous “peach scene” from Call Me By Your Name needs no more introduction than that, having secured a spot in the annals of history via Luca Guadagnino’s film, and André Aciman’s novel before that. A scene of varying emotional shades – freedom, frustration, tenderness – the peach has subsequently become the enduring emblem of the story, and now you get your hands on your very own version by fashion’s favourite designer, Jonathan Anderson. After their numerous on and off-screen collabs, Anderson has once again teamed up with Guadagnino for a set of hand-poured peach paperweights, modelled after the OG peach from the film and sold under his JW Anderson brand. “Each paperweight is cast from a whole peach, with molten bronze poured into each mould,” said the label. “They are finished by hand chiselling any texture lost in the process, sanded and buffed with a shine.” The label also added that the paperweights were “inspired by an indelible scene from Guadagnino's filmography”. Indelible, alright! JW Anderson x Luca Guadagnino peach paperweightsCourtesy of JW Anderson The solid bronze peach marks yet another notch on Anderson and Guadagnino’s shared bedposts. Anderson recently acted as the costume designer for Guadagnino’s films Challengers and Queer, while the Italian director was spotted filming a secret project at Anderson’s Dior debut, and even stepped in front of the lens for a recent JW campaign. Next year, the relationship continues with Anderson returning as costume designer for Artificial, Guadagnino’s upcoming AI drama. But back to CMBYN, and if you wanna get your hands on a special peach, the paperweights are available exclusively at JW Anderson’s new Pimlico store in central London. The area, known for its specialist antique spots, is a prime spot for the brand since it recently rebranded with a renewed focus on lifestyle and homeware. Along with the peaches, Pimlico’s “modern-day cabinet of curiosities” will include vintage Christmas decs, coffee-flavoured tea, Wedgwood Greek Mugs, and an art installation by British artist Kira Freije.
